100 Days...

As of 8:00 am January 21, 2009, there will be exactly 100 days until Travis' Graduation ceremony. Those 100 days just cannot come fast enough. We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel...sort of...

This semester may just be the hardest one yet. He's probably taking too many credits in one semester, and probably working too much, so that he doesn't have much time for studying and homework. Especially when's there's two kids and a wife that want to see him too... I understand that he's going to school for us, to help build a better husband and father for us, and build a better future for our family, but the kids don't understand that. That's what's hard. Especially when Travis is not home and Max is not happy, and crying, "DADDY! DADDY!" And then Elora comes over to me and says, "Mom, Max needs his Daddy..." Yes, I know... I just hope we can all come through this alive, especially Travis. We may just have to drag his exhausted body onto the stage at his graduation ceremony.

But seriously, Travis, I hope I can do all I can to help you finish, and do well. I'm proud of you Travis, I know you can do this. I know you can finish. "Just keep swimming" and push through. I love you!

Take it from me, the end will come and it will be completely worth it. As someone who has gotten to the end of school more times than should be allowed (well, between me and Mike), I know how hard it is to see your husband for only two hours a day, live in a pigsty, eat at weird times of the day, and then go to work afterward. After we moved to Memphis, I had school and two jobs and the only time I ever saw Mike was bedtime and Sundays. It's hard, and it's supposed to be. But that's what makes it worth it in the end. Nothing without effort is ever worth it. Three months is a short time. . . even though it won't seem like it to you. You can do it! And when you get to the end, it will be the greatest feeling in the world!

Hang in there, you will all make it through this semester. Then it will be party time and some well deserved family time.

Hey Cynthia, this is from Tony & Michelle. Congratulations, and hang in there. Michelle says take it from her - it's worth it in the end and she's glad that we finished my graduate degrees while the kids were young. I know just how it is to leave before anyone is awake, and come home late after everybody is asleep, and do it four or five days a week for years. That was life. But it does make you appreciate the more important things in your life, and the time that you have together. We realize now that a lot of the things that seemed important were not quite as important as taking advantage of the little bit of time that you have together. Best of Luck, and make sure to let us know when and where Travis walks!
